M-F 3:30PM-12AM

 

 

Summary:

The purpose of this position is to lead daily production operations by managing staff, workflow, and processes to meet production targets while ensuring quality, safety, and productivity while scheduling, training, troubleshooting, reporting, and consistently enforcing company policies and safety standards. TRAINING FOR THIS SHIFT MAY BE ON A DIFFERENT SHIFT FOR UP TO ONE MONTH.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.   

 

Leadership & Production Management:

  • Lead team to meet production demands while ensuring quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.
  • Maintain budget and financial controls as directed by department manager.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate daily with other production departments.
  • Conduct daily shift meetings focused on safety and production.
  • Review and recommend process improvements related to production methods, equipment, quality, service, and overall shift performance.
  • Read and interpret production schedules, work orders, drawings, and measurements.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, maintenance, shipping and engineering.

Employee Management & Development:

  • Support department manager in the development and management of headcount.
  • Interview, hire, supervise, evaluate, and replace employees as required to meet or exceed performance objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop employees.
  • Assign and manage employee schedules and coordinate coverage for time off.
  • Identify potential career paths for employees and support skill development and advancement within the company.
  • Deliver and document employee training in setup/operation, testing, troubleshooting, machine metrics reporting, and safety procedures.
  • Provide coaching, counseling, and progressive discipline in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Administer company policies and local plant practices in a fair and consistent manner.

Safety, Environmental & Compliance:

  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of all safety policies and procedures.
  • Address unsafe acts and conditions promptly.
  • Ensure all incidents, including environmental and near misses, are properly reported, investigated, and documented with corrective and preventive actions and employee statements.

 

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S, aimed at cost reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve overall quality and performance.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities and assist during downtime events as needed.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Experience with employee scheduling, performance reviews, and workforce planning.
  • Perform time approval functions and manage attendance records.
  • Complete and maintain required paperwork related to line operations, training, and performance documentation.
  • Support monthly overhead budgeting activities
  • Support management for purchasing and managing all consumables for department.
  • Conduct effective shift meetings and communicate expectations clearly.

 

Education/Experience/Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Engineering, or Business Management is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and Gmail

This job has direct supervisory responsibilities.

 

Certificates and Licenses:

Valid driver’s license required.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Proper lifting techniques required.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The travel required for this position is 5%. Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Individuals are required to wear appropriate safety protective equipment at the proper times and in the proper environments. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
