Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to plan and schedule the inbound flow of material to support customer and production needs. Establishes, implements and leads overall strategic initiatives to improve customer satisfaction, fill rates, inventory goals and overall improvements to the supply chain by performing the following duties.


Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

  • Manages the planning, procurement and sourcing recommendations of assigned parts to meet customer and production needs based on current and forecasted demand.
  • Monitors production plans and design changes to ensure availability of purchased parts per quality specifications.
  • Assists in developing alternative sources for current and future product needs working with Product Development and Quality groups.
  • Advises management of market conditions and supply base activity which could affect quality, delivery or price considerations critical to the company’s success.
  • Executes engineering changes regarding purchase parts to ensure supplier is working to YKK AP’s current specifications.
  • Works with suppliers daily to ensure timely fulfillment of demand requirements and inventory replenishment needs.
  • Negotiates pricing, delivery, lead times and related duties with supplier to meet budgetary goals and customer expectations.


Education / Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in business or operations management plus 1 year of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Certificates and Licenses:

APICS CPIM or ISM CPM preferred.
