This senior role oversees People Resource services across North American manufacturing sites (U.S. & Canada), driving HR practices that support a high-performance, employee-focused culture. Acting as a strategic HR partner, it leads organizational design, change management, and people development to strengthen the business. Reporting to the SVP/CHRO, the role manages HR Managers, ensuring effective HR strategies and daily operations. The Director, Human Resources develops workforce strategies, optimizes HR resources, enhances productivity, and fosters strong partnerships with Operations and Manufacturing leaders while leading key HR initiatives to achieve organizational goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Act as a key HR leader, collaborating with leadership across manufacturing sites to implement HR strategies that support business goals.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence and pride in producing high quality HR systems/processes on time.
- Work across multiple manufacturing sites to understand areas of concern, define problems, collect data, verify facts, and draw valid conclusions. Interpret a variety of data relating to employment laws to make thoughtful recommendations for the most effective outcome.
- Lead and participate in HR projects, fostering a collaborative team environment and driving value for the organization.
- Provide strategic HR support for business transformation and change management.
- Support workforce planning, talent acquisition, skills management, and compliance in alignment with the company’s workforce strategy.
- Partner with leaders to identify and develop talent, enhance organizational capabilities, and strengthen company culture.
- Lead the work to regularly review the company's talent management processes within the business areas, including performance/potential management, resource planning and succession planning.
- Identify and implement HR best practices to improve processes and enhance HR delivery to the business.
- Analyze and report key HR metrics (turnover, retention, labor costs, etc.) to improve workforce effectiveness.
- Support HR team in resolving employee relations issues and developing corrective action plans.
- Monitor HR trends, employment laws, and best practices, applying insights to business operations.
- Conduct investigations and collaborate closely with the SVP/CHRO and VP/GC throughout the process.
- Manage departmental budget.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, continuously updating policies as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Individual manages 2 or more HR leaders. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 10+ years of HR leadership experience supporting a multi-plant manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 5 years within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting data to support recommendations for the HR function and client groups.
- Experience in overcoming resistance to organizational change and leading change initiative.
- Experience in identifying continuous improvement opportunities and leading initiative to deliver bottom-line results.
- Experience in prioritizing and executing multiple projects based on business needs.
- Experience working in a matrixed environment, integrating cross-functional input and guidance into priorities and solutions.
- Experience in delivering presentations and public speaking.
- Experience in influencing business leaders to support and drive a HR strategic plan.
- Strong understanding of labor and employment law.
- Computer proficiency in software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, G-Suite) as well as SAP SuccessFactor and UKG.
- 30% of travel is required.
Certificates and Licenses:
Prefer SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The travel required for this position is 30%.
