Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to support inventory control, ensure product quality, and maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment through efficient material handling and related warehouse functions.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities
- Move materials within the warehouse, including loading and unloading trucks and relocating inventory.
- Operate forklifts, stand-up side loaders, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Conduct daily inspections and routine maintenance of assigned equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Perform receiving duties, including unloading, inspecting, and verifying incoming shipments; report damages or shortages to supervisor.
- Use mobile devices to complete receiving processes and store materials in proper locations.
- Load materials onto carts and secure items with strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent damage during transit.
- Combine pallets as needed to maximize space utilization within the warehouse.
- Keep assigned work areas clean, organized, and in compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.
- Perform daily cycle counts and inventory reconciliation to support inventory accuracy.
- Carry out additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required (minimum).
- Proficient computer skills, including the ability to learn industry-specific software.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize similarities and differences between product profiles.
- Solid math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety, ensuring a vigilant and proactive approach at all times.
- Demonstrate a high standard of quality and a continuous drive for operational excellence.
