Inventory Supervisor - Inventory and Material Handling
1st Shift
Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to carry out duties in accordance with overseeing and coordinating the department’s daily productivity and production by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate employees.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control Inventory accuracy for parts cage, Ocmulgee warehouse, and Chestney Warehouse.
- Control Cycle counts for all inventory locations listed above.
- Control 5S and overall working conditions all inventory locations.
- Oversee equipment for material handling such as forklifts (daily inspections), dock locks, road tractors and trailers.
- Manage safety for areas, monitor dock mount with trailer and ensure jack stands are placed, forklift battery charging stations, PPE in these areas, emergency shower inspections, lighting, etc…
- Manage and maintain custom glass receiving and verification based on PO entry.
- Manage inventory racks to be transported back and forth between commercial facility (weekly deliveries).
- Manage / oversee recycling of re-grind material, cardboard material, and manage the material handling between Chestney and Ocmulgee sites for this material.
- Manage material handling employees for daily work duties and supervise daily department operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
- Updates and reviews shift schedule for material handling employees.
- Conduct monthly safety topic meetings with employee(s).
- Reviews and recommends to manager any measures to improve the department and areas to include but not limited to production methods, equipment, quality, safety, service and overall performance of the department.
- Training employees.
- Completes time approval within time keeping system.
- Coaching/counseling employees and administering discipline as needed.
- Addressing complaints and resolving problems as needed.
- Assist managers in interviewing and hiring decisions.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus 1 - 3 years of experience in a fabrication/warehouse environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer 1 year of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Certificates and Licenses:
Prefer certified forklift operator (can be obtained after hire).

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Proper lifting techniques required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The travel required for this position is 1%.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions and vibration.
