Take Off Technician

Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to create and prepare clear, complete, and accurate work order work instructions, custom fabrication details or drawings, and bill of material requirements list for Fabricated Products, and correspond with both Customer Service and manufacturing relative to issues with the Order Entry configurations by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities

• Creates Bill of Material (BOM) requirements, Take-off, and Application Engineering support for material and hardware for fabricated order.
• Generates order packets and distributes to manufacturing floor in timely manner
• Corresponds with customer service reps with product configuration issues and provides technical support.
• Processes appropriate Change Orders on BOM Changes/Cancellations as to regards to shop order maintenance.
• Supports Application Engineering for Custom Doors; including but not limited to Hardware Purchasing, Drawings, Template Interpretation and requirements for Fabrication and Development
• Extraction and Creation hardware part numbers from database for fab department.
• Provide technical support to fabrication department on all special applications including CNC programming modifications.
• Engages with ME and/or Site designee on CNC Program training, uploading, creation and technical support.
• Provide drawings for templates if needed.
• Communicates with Fabrication, OMC, and Administrative support on production status of order.
• Performs Production Planning for Fabricated Material and communicates with OMC Supervisor on order dates.
• Performs Analysis for key Performance Indicators for Fabrication Department

At YKK AP America Inc., base pay is only part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role in Southern California is between $38,0000-$64,600 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.

Education/Experience:

At least one year certificate from college or technical school. Preferred experience: 1+ years of similar experience in processing of orders through Manufacturing Process; 3+ plus years of fabrication experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must be proficient with using PC, MS Office, G-suite, Auto-Cad (preferred), and ability to learn new systems.
